The Refinery Creative is looking for a full-time intern to join its team. Our interns enjoy the opportunity to work on print and digital advertising campaigns for major television, theatrical, and home entertainment clients, gaining practical skills and portfolios for careers in design.
Applicants are expected to have working knowledge of graphic design and should be adept with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Apple operating systems, and Wacom tablets. Additionally, priority consideration will be given to applicants who can demonstrate working knowledge of motion graphics (After Effects). Applicants should be able to see their art from concept to finish; this might include sketches, stock images, typography, and photography.
The full-time internship will last 12 weeks. Class credit and/or a stipend are available, and some meals are provided.
To apply, please send your portfolio and a brief letter introducing yourself and telling us why you’re right for the position to intern@therefinerycreative.com.
What we’re looking for:
•RESOURCEFULNESS: We want to see you create or find your own imagery, typography, etc. In advertising, you don’t always get decent assets. You are encouraged to use your own photography, illustration, painting, etc., in addition to fully utilizing the scope of Photoshop skills at your disposal.
•ORIGINALITY: While entertainment marketing certainly has formulas, we look for innovation. Show us an original idea, we’ll show you a winner!
•EXECUTION: Taste, quality and finesse are very important. Knowing your way around Photoshop is a huge plus in our portfolio. Show us your skills, attention to detail and an aesthetic that represents your point of view. [We may ask to review your PSD files.]
Thank you for your interest,
The Refinery
