Show Your Work at PDC with AIGA LA Emerge!

This year's Emerge exhibition will be held at the Pacific Design Center and involves over 13 Los Angeles-based design programs. As in the past, schools with an active AIGA student group (that's us!) are invited to participate. Each school may submit up to 10 projects from current AIGA student members.

Projects must be ready to hang and ALL participating students must sign up to volunteer with installation/de-installation or assistance during the exhibition. This is an unique opportunity for students to represent their schools, network with other students and professionals, and showcase what they can offer.

Deadline to submit your work is February 16. Please bring to 10995 LeConte #414 during business hours. If you need to make other drop-off arrangements, please email dca@uclaextension.edu at least two days in advance. The work will be curated, and not all who enter will be included. But you never know until you try! Please try.

  1. "Projects must be ready to hang" — does this mean that work should be submitted in a frame, or matted to a board?

  2. Hi Eric,

It can be either. "Ready to hang" means that the work is ready to be seen in a gallery setting. So whatever you think is best to display your particular piece. Either way, attention should be paid to detail so that it's professionally presented (no wrinkles if on boards, clean edges, clean glass if a frame... that sort of thing).

    Thanks for the question!
