I Get It, So Way to Go

Infographic from here

I miss Cristina, who writes the other visual arts blog. She is in Berlin and Paris so I'm happy for her, but the work day just sort of drags without her social commentary and sweet snacking influence. Who will share the WF fig and date bars with me? I can't buy a whole package, because then that will mean I eat eight fig and date bars in a day.

Which is not Cristina's fault.

Another side-effect of her absence is my absence in Mixed Media and Collage class. We were attending together, along with photography instructor Paula Goldman. But since Cristina has been gone I've lagged. This isn't her responsibility, and is really correlation not causation since the real reason I haven't been going is something else. Something private (and awesome).

So this post is about me getting how hard it is to go to class sometimes. Being a working adult with a life plus, it's tough to show up consistently for 12 weeks somewhere, working in-between meetings to make something that doesn't suck.

Kudos to all of you who keep it going. It's hard work, even when the instructor is awesome and the class is awesome and you want to be there, but just don't get there. I have a lot of respect for you guys when you come through the door with 16 or so successfully completed courses in your stable, knowing that you likely finished while working full time, raising kids, or missing home thousands of miles away. Way to go.
