Comics and Chip(s)

‘Poster for Designers’ by Nicole Blauw

I had one copy of an Archie comic that I read many times as a kid. That whole thing about Archie choosing between Betty and Veronica was sort of messed up now that I look back on it. Which reminds me, this guy was so outraged that Archie "chose" Veronica that he put his rare copy up for sale as protest.

Anyway, that one comic is about my only experience with comics, although I did hold Wonder Woman in high esteem, but that was soley based on Linda Carter's televised embodiment. Please note the new animated WW feature is so worth watching. Loved it!

This brief childhood retrospective is a round-about way of getting to the Chip Kidd slideshow of his DC Comics series on the NYT. The type treatment on the Final Crisis logo is pretty cool, although I agree with him that it could have been more overt early on.

Chip Kidd is pretty much a design star.
